82 Young Artists to be Conferred with Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2022 & 2023  on Nov 22

The Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for the years 2022 and 2023 will be conferred to 82 young artists in a special ceremony on Friday at Dr Ambedkar International Centre in the national capital.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Tourism and Culture will felicitate the Ustad Bismilliah Khan Yuva Puraskar on these young artists representing the diverse and rich cultural traditions of India across various performing arts, from classical music and dance to folk, theatre, and puppetry.

The ceremony will be presided over by Dr. Sandhya Purecha, Chairman of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, and Uma Nanduri, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The event will be followed by a Festival of Performing Arts, which will feature the award recipients performing at various venues across the city from 22nd to 26th November 2024.

The Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar was established by the Sangeet Natak Akademi in 2006 in honor of the legendary musician Ustad Bismillah Khan. The award recognizes outstanding young artists, up to the age of 40, in the fields of music, dance, drama, folk & tribal arts, and puppetry. Recipients receive a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, a plaque, and an angavastram.
