Exciting news from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD)! Two groundbreaking medical technologies developed by our researchers have been successfully transferred to industry.
The first technology, the ‘DNA Aptamer for Prostate Cancer Detection,’ developed by Prof. Prashant Mishra and his team, has the potential to revolutionize the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. This innovative technology can bind to specific oncogenes, making it a promising tool for theranostics in prostate cancer.
The second technology, the ‘Photonic Chip based Spectrometric Biosensor,’ developed by Prof. Joby Joseph and his team, is a game-changer in pathogen detection. This cutting-edge biosensor enables rapid and accurate identification of pathogens, crucial for preventing infectious diseases.
Both technologies have been transferred to industry leaders Dr. Swapnil Sinha of HUMMSA Biotech Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata, and Mr. Nitin Zaveri of UNINO Healthcare Private Limited, Mumbai. The transfer took place on 31 July at a special event hosted by IITD, showcasing the incredible innovation happening within our institution.
These technologies were developed under the government-sponsored project Nanoelectronics Network for Research and Applications (NNetRA), led by the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi. FITT, supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is dedicated to fostering technology transfer and creating opportunities for technology developers to bring their products to market.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in our mission to drive innovation and make a positive impact on healthcare. Congratulations to the researchers, industry partners, and everyone involved in this exciting journey towards advancing medical technology!
