Koo App
Well, well, well, looks like Koo, the Indian social media app that thought it could take on X (formerly known as Twitter), is throwing in the towel. Founder Aprameya Radhakrishna made the announcement on LinkedIn, admitting defeat after failing to secure a sale or merger with any interested companies. Looks like Koo couldn’t quite keep up with the big dogs after all.
Here’s Aprameya Radhakrishna’s LinkedIn post:
The extended period of limited funding that we experienced during our peak significantly hindered our plans, forcing us to scale back our growth trajectory. Building a successful social media company is one of the most challenging endeavors, even with ample resources, as it requires achieving a substantial user base before generating revenue. It was clear that we needed 5 to 6 years of aggressive, long-term, and patient capital in order to turn this dream into a reality.
